HOW TO WRITE A GOOD BOOK APPRAISAL
A good appraisal must have the following information:
- factual information: the when (date), what (the type of the book), who (the author) etc
- the title of the book
- a short description of the settings and characters
- a summary of the plot (about two paragraphs): include the turning point and the most interesting aspect of the story
- your opinion: use an adjective, for example, horrible story
- context of the story: background of the characters
- your reaction, for example: you didn´t put down the book until you finished it
- use of simple present
- use of superlatives
A possible way to organize it:
Paragraph 1:
the facts about the book: the author, when it was published, etc
Paragraph 2
setting, characters, plot
Paragraph 3
continuation of the plot, the turning point
Paragraph 4:
the reasons you liket it or not and the conclusion
