PHRASAL VERBS with get




One of the topics that demands a certain amount of devotion time from the Brazilian student of English is the "Phrasal Verbs"

A dificuldade de se aprender o phrasal verbs está no fato de que uma simples partícula colocada depois do verbo modifica-lhe totalmente o sentido.

A list of phrasal verbs with ´get´:

get about = circular (uma notícia); locomover-se
get across = ser bem sucedido, impressionar o público; fazer compreender; tornar bem claro
get ahead  =  prosperar, progredir
get along = andar, fazer progresso
get around = evitar, contornar
get away with = escapar impune
get away = fugir, escapar
get back = return
get by = passar, conseguir passar
get carried away = se descontrolar
get down = descer
get down to
get even  with = desforrar-se de 
get in = arrive, entrar em veículo
get into = entrar, meter-se em
get off = descer (trem, ônibus)
get off = (sentido literal)
get on with = se dar bem com
get out = sair, ir-se embora
get out of = avoid
get over = recuperar-se, refazer-se
get rid of = dispose, se livrar de
get round to it =
get through = passar, atravessar
get to = reach
get up = levantar
